Our vision for rainwater

A generated visualisation of what the Rainwater Management Platform could possibly look like.

Water is a valuable resource and its management needs a revised approach amidst the growing challenges of alternating surface water flooding and droughts. We aim to provide robust guidance to help all interdisciplinary actors and stakeholders across the wider water sector improve performance through AMP8 and beyond.

The Rainwater Management Platform (RMP) will include how to meet new standards, with frameworks for both design and approval processes. The platform aims to deliver a free, user-focused platform online that revolutionises rainwater management in the UK.

The Rainwater Management Platform will:

  • Host up-to-date guidance on planning, design, construction, and maintenance

  • Provide innovative tools for visualisation, design, and specification

  • Support major water industry investment and research programs

A truly collaborative effort

The RMP project brings together a network of expertise and partnership. Over 20 leading organisations across the UK contribute to its delivery and governance, supported by 50+ individual experts. 15 key national regulators and organisations form the governance boards, ensuring robust oversight and strategic direction. This is collaboration at scale — working together to shape the future of rainwater management.
